Thank you Philippe. You’re right that there is a paradox here, but it’s easily explained by looking at technical architects. You wouldn’t ask one to design a house. The tech industry is good at taking words and adopting them for their own purposes.
Leadership coaches can and do coach senior leaders in organisational alignment, but they are very often people that have done it themselves and adapt their approach to the situation. They are not agile coaches.
For me, the clue is in the name. We need to drop the word “agile” and accept that in the real world, everything is agile and everything is waterfall.
Then, those that want to be business or leadership coaches can follow their dream, but that isn’t embedded in tech teams.
In today’s economic climate, we need delivery people to be on the hook and we need experts that have solved this problem before. That’s the future for the agile industry.
